The Eden Valley Railway is based at
Warcop in Cumbria (or Westmorland, in old money), just off the A66
between Appleby and Brough.
By Car:
From the M6: leave the M6 at Junction 40 and head east along the
A66
for approximately 18 miles before turning right at the Warcop road
junction, signed Warcop and Warcop Training Centre. Turn left just
before the railway bridge and follow this road to the visitor entrance,
which is at the far end of the site.
An alternative route from the M6 is to leave at Junction 38 and follow
the A685 through Kirkby Stephen towards Brough before turning west onto
the A66 and following the instructions below.
From the east: take the A66 over Stainmore and past Brough before
turning left at the Warcop junction, signed Warcop and Warcop Training
Centre. Turn left before the railway bridge and follow this road to the
visitor entrance, which is at the far end of the site.

The nearest railway station is Appleby: the current Northern
Rail timetable for the Settle & Carlisle line can be downloaded
as a PDF from Northern Rail's website. This is valid until 21st May
2011.
Unfortunately there is
no bus service to Warcop on Sundays and Bank Holidays. On weekdays the
local bus route serving Warcop is the 563 from Penrith and Appleby to
Kirkby Stephen. The 571 Upper Eden Plus Bus is to be withdrawn in May
this year as a result of local government spending cuts..
