The
Warcop Emporium is located in CCT M94749 (KDB977141) and is run by the
Friends of the Eden Valley Railway to raise funds for work on the
Permanent Way. Everything sold in the Emporium has been donated and is
offered for sale at very reasonable prices.
As the picture above shows, the
Emporium is full (over-full, at the moment) of goods just waiting to be
purchased: paperback and hardback fiction, railway, history,
cookery and childrens books,
magazines on railways, commercial vehicles, model railways and others,
other railwayana and lots of what is known as bric-a-brac.
At present, all paperback fiction is priced at 50p, all hardback
fiction is £1.00 and magazines are 10p each or 12 for £1.
Some items (mostly second-hand books) are available on ebay from
madhoppingannie, who can be
found by visiting ebay, clicking
on "advanced" next to the search button, clicking on Find a member
and typing madhoppingannie into the find a member box. Why the search
has been changed to a more complex procedure I do not know, but it is
annoying!
The Friends also raise funds by recycling empty drink cans, ink jets,
& ink cartridges on site, so if you are visiting any of these items
will be welcomed, as every little helps.
